STOKE make the short trip to Manchester to face the Belle Vue Colts in the Travel Plus National League at the National Speedway Stadium on Friday night, 7.30pm.

The A.R. Richards Potters have had to make one change for the clash with number one Mitchell Davey racing for his SGB Championship side Edinburgh meaning that former Potters skipper Jon Armstrong returns to the club as a guest for the Potters in what is an otherwise unchanged side.
The Potters narrowly lost out to the Colts in the home fixture at Loomer road last month as the Colts sneaked a 45-44 victory.

Many of the pundits feel that the Colts will be one of the title contenders and their home form has been impressive this season with their two home matches against Mildenhall (65-25) and Lakeside (60-30) suggesting to be the case, but Potters boss Malcolm Vasey commented “We are going to Belle Vue with a view that we are capable of gaining something from the meeting. Many people suggested that Belle Vue would beat us well at Loomer road and we showed that we have the battling qualities to push them all the way. There is no doubt that they are a very good team with some very talented riders but we do have a very good team spirit and we want to make amends for not getting anything from our match at Kent on Monday when I feel we should have won and we will be looking for something out of the meeting on Friday night.”

Belle Vue are led into action by the talented Dan Bewley who has been riding well for both the Colts and SGB Championship side Glasgow and he will be well supported by former Potter Lee Payne and Stoke On Trent based Jack Smith who linked up with the Colts over the winter having won the league title last season with Birmingham which sees’ a very potent heat leader trio for the Colts. They are back up by Kyle Bickley who has been impressive in his first full season along with another former Potter Rob Shuttleworth completing the top five. Reserves for the Colts are former Stoke Spitfire Andy Mellish who has started the season well with the Colts along with Luke Woodhull completing the line-up for the Manchester club.
