POTTERS v LAKESIDE - PREVIEW

Friday 26 May, 2017
STOKE entertain the Lakeside Hammers in the Travel Plus National League at Loomer Road on Saturday night, 7pm looking to bounce back from their thrashing at Belle Vue on Friday night after a performance that team manager Malcolm Vasey described as "unacceptable."

The A.R. Richards Potters will be looking to gain a victory against the Hammers who dropped down over the winter from last seasons’ Elite League and they have formed a strong looking outfit headed by double league title winner Zach Wajtknecht who has been in impressive form for the Hammers this season. He will be well supported by former riders champion and Hammers skipper Ben Morley along with Alfie Bowtell who is more than capable of scoring some good points around the Chesterton circuit. The Hammers have also made a new signing in the last few days which sees’ Paul Hurry return to the sport. Hurry rode one match earlier in the season for the Hammers and scored 11 points and the Hammers management have managed to fit him into their side with Alex Spooner also coming into the side at the expense of George Hunter to complete the top five. Completing the septet are the reserves Jamie Couzins and Nick Laurence.

The Potters welcome back Mitchell Davey who missed the trip to Belle Vue on Friday as he looks to continue his impressive start to the season and the rest of the team look to bounce back from Friday night’s thrashing at Belle Vue.

Stoke boss Malcolm Vasey said “I’m looking for a very much improved performance after last night at Belle Vue. The performance was totally unacceptable and I’m looking for a response from the team against Lakeside. The Hammers have made a couple of team changes this week bringing in Paul Hurry who is a very capable rider alongside Zach Wajtknecht and they also have Ben Morley with the three of them all capable of scoring well so we can expect a tough meeting against them so I’m hoping that the team will respond and give the supporters something to shout about after Friday at Belle Vue.”
