STOKE skipper Tony Atkin has been ruled out of action for the next few weeks he has informed Stoke Promoter Dave Tattum.

The Potters promoter commented “I have spoken to Tony on Sunday and he has told me that he has two broken bones and will be out of action for a few weeks. The full extent of the injuries will not be known until the swelling has gone down and then we will be able to put a proper time limit on the injury and we will go from there.

Tatum continued “Tony is eager to get back on the bike as soon as possible and I know being the team man that he is he will do everything possible to get back on track and we all wish him a speedy recovery.”

Atkin was involved in a heat fourteen crash in Saturday’s defeat at Loomer Road to Lakeside after Hammers rider Alfie Bowtell ran into the back of the Potters captain resulting in both riders falling heavily.
