STOKE make the long trek south to face the Plymouth Devils in the Travel Plus National League at the St. Boniface Arena on Friday night, 7.15pm.

The A.R. Richards Potters will be without number one Mitchell Davey who is riding for parent club Edinburgh in the SGB Championship while at reserve they will again draft in a reserve for the retired David Speight. Birmingham’s Tom Bacon comes in to replace Davey while youngster William O’Keefe deputises at reserve for Speight, while the Potters will operate rider replacement for injured skipper Tony Atkin.

The Devils who dropped from last seasons’ Premier League have a formidable heat leader trio in Steve Boxall, Benji Compton and new signing Adam Roynon who started the season with Workington in the Championship before being dropped by the Comets last month. The Devils then have the experience of Richard Andrews to support them along with youngster Heney Atkins who has been scoring well in the league this season with Callum Walker and Rob Parker lining up at reserve for the Devon club.

The Devils have had an indifferent start to the season as they are currently bottom of the league table and without a win while the Potters are currently in 9th place. The Devils have though been impressive in the National Trophy having topped their group and reaching the National Trophy final. The Potters having elected not to ride in the National trophy this season.

Potters manager Malcolm Vasey commented “It’s a tight little circuit where you need to get some good starts in. They have formulated a very good side and added Adam Roynon and they will be difficult to beat around their home circuit, but we are going with a positive attitude and as always we will be looking to take something from the meeting.”
