STOKE make the short trip down the M6 to face Midlands rivals and double league title winners Birmingham in the Travel Plus National League on Bank Holiday Monday afternoon at Perry Barr, 3pm.

The A.R. Richards Potters have not beaten the Brummies’ in the past few years home or away, but a buoyant Potters team travel to Perry Barr looking to cause an upset against the Champions after beating Buxton at Hi-Edge raceway on Sunday afternoon in the KO Cup.

Luke Priest commented “It’s obviously going to be a tough one for us but we are coming in to the meeting off a handsome win yesterday and we’d love to go there and get a good result. We are all capable of riding it and have rode there over the years and we are not going there to get pushed around and they may well be limping a little with losing Danyon Hume due to a broken arm and that is a big loss to them unfortunately for him and you never know we may well cause a little bit of a surprise.”

Birmingham will use rider replacement to cover for Danyon Hume and they give a debut to Kyle Roberts who replaces the retired Chris Hay. Tom Bacons lead the side into action for the West Midlands outfit and he is well supported by skipper Darryl Ritchings and teenager Jack Parkinson-Blackburn who do form a solid top three with Roberts completing the top five. At reserve Layne Cupitt has started the season well for his new club rattling up some big scores around the Perry Barr circuit while Macauley Leek completes the Birmingham septet.
